Here I go again thinking I can stay up until midnight. Late night online shopping, indulging in hot fries and ice cream knowing I’ll be hurting when I get up. You know what? YOLO. I know you’re thinking oh no she didn’t try and bring that back. It’s the most accurate saying that goes through my mind when I think about giving myself just ten more minutes of staying up late.
I found the most beautiful maxi dress and it was tie dye. I need to be on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland eating at a restaurant in this dress. The vibrant color will instantly boost your mood and it’s so flowy. I almost forgot how much I love tie dye.
Bella Rose Boutique is one of my favorites and go-to. I have been shopping with them for over one year now. If you’re looking for affordable, quality finds this is your one stop shop. They’re so kind and very responsive. They offer free shipping and have a great selection of curvy items. Girl the wind was not letting me be great while I was snapping photos.
I am 5’4” and the length was absolutely perfect. I was not tripping over it while I walked. I have a smaller chest and it stayed up through all my movements. There’s a flattering smocked detail around the upper mid section. I love that it’s so girly and all you need are your favorite pieces of jewelry and clear flats to style it. You can go further and add a denim jacket to this beauty. The material makes this dress stay at home quarantine relaxing approved. This maxi dress comes in the color orange, too. Do you have those days where you open your eyes and you’re already not feeling it? I have my kids acting as if they activated their spidey senses and my puppies eyeing me like I better get up. I would think to myself that tomorrow will be the day I get ready so I feel normal. I see my reflection in a lot of you with this new way of life. When I face my husband saying goodbye for a training, deployment or heading back to his duty station. Which that is a discussion for a later date lol. It never fails that sometimes I get myself into a funk. I think about all the holidays, birthdays, milestones, anniversaries and family time we won’t have. My heart goes out to you if you’ve had to push an event back. A big THANK YOU and prayers for all of you continuing to head to work during this pandemic. For those who have lost a loved one or dear friend. May God send his angels to wrap themselves around you during this time. I take a moment to myself and kick my butt into gear. Even when my husband and I welcomed our first born while he was away on deployment, or celebrating a happy milestone alone. I made myself a promise to get ready and no I’m not talking about glam fest. Things will go down if my girls are feeling a little froggy that day. A chair might end up on my kitchen counter or they might make paper spit balls in a matter of minutes. I feel so much better when I take time for myself to get ready. It’s almost a sense of normalcy when I do.
I see a lot of you getting dolled up and saying how you feel normal again. GOOD! Continue to get ready! Even if you aren’t going out for essentials. Do it for yourself, get pretty for yourself. Drop it like it’s hot and feel like you’re all that and a bag of chips. I bet you’ll be saying dang I still got it. Do it sis don’t let this quarantine get you down. Make yourself a margarita or your favorite drink and kick back.
Now I don’t know about you but when I get something new or put an outfit together. I kind of, maybe, sort of act a mess in front of the mirror. Hey, just because I’m 28 doesn’t mean I can’t still dip it low and drop it like it’s hot. My knees haven’t failed me yet. There is a cute new boutique and I’m obsessed. When they do a live they have me cracking up and my bank account will be giving me the side eye after. The prices are affordable so that’s my excuse to buy everything I love and must have lol. They’re so sweet and I love that they’re all about self-love, empowerment and confidence. Girl, come on sign me up! So I cannot remember the last time I owned a pair of overalls. I snagged a pair of overalls they have that sent my outfit pairing ideas into overdrive. I put these on and thought wait a minute. Why are these so cute?! I mean I knew they were when I bought them but you know what I mean. I did a 360 and gave myself the smirk which is pretty much my version of a high five. I’m wearing a size small so they were a bit oversized(how I wanted) but could easily size down to an xs. The distressing is not too much and just the right amount. Most importantly, they’re comfortable and not stiff denim aka stay at home quarantine relaxing approved. As you know I style my outfits to match my mood. Today’s goal was simple, laid back, cute and effortlessly put together. I found the cutest headband three piece set on Amazon. My platforms are not available in taupe but they do have tan and other colors that I’ll link. Shop my looks below each picture.
I tell you it’s been a long time coming to starting a blog. In my childhood I endured traumatic child abuse from my father. I was mostly labeled as a tomboy, heck he even purchased mostly boy clothes or the farthest from girl(y) clothes for me. I was blessed enough to have family members who purchased the most cutest girly clothes I adored. I knew deep down at such a young age I was a little fashionista and nothing was going to stop my shine on the inside. Of course, I went off to college with a scholarship to Liberty University but I soon realized my career passion in life had changed. I say this just to wrap up on he planted doubt in any course I wanted to take in life. In 2012 he told me he hoped I fell flat on my a** one day. Guess what?! His words don’t matter because I know who I am on the inside & out. A beautiful, funny, fabulous woman who can’t stop and won’t stop shining with style. No matter what you’re going through in life at this very moment. Love yourself, be confident in who you are and never allow society or others to slap a label on you. I hope to empower women and provide inspiration while being transparent. I come across a lot of women who are beautiful on the inside and out. Some who think they have to spend a fortune on clothes to look and feel good. Some who look in their closet and feel as if it’s missing that “it” magic. Sister, I’m here to tell you to let that fashion imagination run wild! You should feel confident in anything you wear! Your confidence makes an outfit not the other way around.
