All about footwear

Hey girl hey! Can we talk about how big footwear plays in the final look of your outfit. I think at some point in our life we think we need a ton of shoes in order to look well put together.  A great way to keep a good combination is getting one pair of each style. Stick to your neutral tones if you’re just starting out. Below I wanted to share you what one outfit looks like with flat sandals to heels. Yes even leopard, cheetah and camo I consider a neutral. Style it, own it and rock it sis!

Effortless styling

Hey girl hey happy Friday! What effortless style is your go-to? I love these on the go styles because they’re helpful when you have limited time, just starting out to explore styles, or love minimal styles. Don’t think that effortless styling means plain Jane boring. Next to the must-have everyday closet items I recommended. I would highly recommend rompers, jumpsuits, tee shirt dresses and two piece sets. They’re a put on and go type style or otherwise known as effortless.

Similar to this romper I am wearing you can keep it simple and stylish. So let’s simplify how I broke down this cute look! The romper does all the work with it’s beautiful colors, pattern, bell ruffled layered sleeves and shorts. So when it comes to styling all you need to do is accessorize. You can add tassel statement earrings and go further than I did with a dainty necklace. I decided to cover the cinched waist detail with a belt since I opted for no necklace. For footwear mauve, brown or white platform sandals go great. If you’re not a fan of platforms then stud embellished sandals work fab, too! You can find yourself done styling a romper like mine if it has long sleeves. Of course, you can wear bracelets but because the sleeves are a statement enough you can get away with no wrist bling. If you ever have a styling dilemma then feel to email, reach out to me on any of my social media platforms or drop a line below.

Hello floral jumpsuit

Hey beauty! I am going to give you a few details of my most recent find! This is a green floral jumpsuit and perfect for those warmer sunny days.

IMG_8249

I’m wearing an extra small, the legs have a little extra room but that’s how it’s meant to be and the fit is fab. The straps will need to be tied in order to keep the jumpsuit secured. I love the shimmery bronze bead that is added at the end of each strap. Below the bust you will find a flattering gather that goes into a smocked detail around the whole piece. I love that design because it gives you some sort of separation. Below at the hips you will find two deep pockets. They didn’t leave out the back and gave it a slight v neckline. This jumpsuit is very flowy and the material won’t cause you to sweat. You will not find this to be restricting.

Please keep in mind that if you need to use more length in the straps to tie it. You might notice your pants leg raise a little bit. Luckily, say you are a size medium regular then you can size up to a medium long. If you have a smaller chest then I’d look at what to buy a little closer. This piece would be super cute with brown platforms and gold jewelry. I love one piece outfits because you don’t have to worry about matching other clothes with it. It’s comfortable, beautiful and an effortless style. You can shop this look below.

Happy Tuesday

Hey girl! I talked on my Facebook and Instagram about how I was sick and tired of my house decor. So I’ve decided to start redecorating my house from the patio to the kitchen. Heck I might even paint another part of the house at this rate. My husband and I were on the fence if we should stay in Texas or move to Georgia. Regardless I can bring these items if we move. So I am taking the day to shop until my fingers fall off.

Now to get down to the cute stuff! Let’s talk about this dress overall I’m wearing today. I purchased it in an extra small and the fit is great. I still have slight room in it which is perfect so I can get around with no restrictions but there is no stretch. To get in, there are three buttons on both sides in the front that are overlapped behind with material so there is no skin showing. The waistband does have belt loops. That would be so cute to add another touch to this piece. I’m totally digging the distressing and I always swoon over a raw hemline. There are 7 functioning pockets throughout this piece. I think the chest pockets is by far the coolest addition to these overalls. There are two side by side slim utility pockets and behind them is one large pocket. I added a picture below so you could see. I paired this with the same tank I shared yesterday but in pink. I wanted to show you what adding an accessory like a headband can to do an outfit.

IMG_8127

Since the buttons hold the overalls in place when the straps are down. I would absolutely rock this piece just like that, too. It’s one piece and you can throw anything on with this beauty. This is a total style before you buy piece and that’s what I love to call effortless. You can shop my overalls and tank below.

Is it affordable?

Hellooooo Monday! I don’t know if it’s just me but these days are flying by. Can we talk about the price tag? It’s been crossing my mind a lot lately and what it really means to you. One of my motives to starting a blog was to bring awareness that cute outfits don’t have to come with a hefty tag. At some point my husband and I could only treat ourselves every blue moon. We could go to the mall 6 years ago and I’d grab something off the rack. The dreaded tag was too expensive and off to the sale rack I went. I completely understand what it really means when you rarely buy things for yourself. So it had me thinking day in and day out. What does affordable mean to you?

It is my goal to keep every situation in mind and build outfit inspirations around that. I don’t want you to think that in order to snag something affordable you have to compromise quality. No one should spend their hard earned money on bad quality even if it’s a lower price point.

I am not going to put an outfit on the same day I received it and do a review that still leaves you guessing. I want to put wear into my outfit and see how it gets through everyday tasks. Before I bring an outfit to you it will go under review by myself before I recommend it. I read all cleaning directions, I look at the quality, how it moves, the material and color/pattern. You matter and I will always stay transparent and genuine.

IMG_7993Keeping all situations in mind I have two pieces that are affordable and comfortable. The top is $16.06 with great length, racerback finished, functioning buttons in the front and soft. I am wearing an extra small and I love that this top can be styled with anything you have in your closet. The more it stretches the more see through it becomes. You can stick to a nude bra, nipple covers or sticky bra. My bottoms are $24.97 and not a stiff denim with pockets. The length is great so you feel secure and nothing is hanging out. The distressing on the front is so cute along with the raw hem on the back. I’m rocking a 0 in the bottoms and both pieces fit true to size. You can shop my look below.

Happy Mother’s Day

Hello gorgeous! I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. Wishing you/the wonderful ladies in your life a fantabulous Mother’s Day! If your mom or your sweet little angel is in heaven. I’m sending all the virtual hugs and love that I can.

My little fashionistas are only 3 and 4 yet they sass me right back when I ask for a picture. They wouldn’t take a picture without their play shoes. I’m so blessed and overwhelmed with joy to be chosen as their mama. A journey with no directions somehow we fly through it like super moms. When we think we are too exhausted to go any further we gain even more strength. So I raise my margarita to all you mamas out there.IMG_8371

Laundry day comes too fast

Hello gorgeous I hope you have a fantabulous Saturday! I wanted to drop a few lines to talk about the cleaning instruction tag on our clothes. Now nothing grinds my gears more than a piece of clothing that has no directions. It’s either going to go well or a hot mess there will be nothing in between. So you and I know that affordable prices is our thing but we don’t want to get robbed of great quality. Yet I used to jeopardize the quality of my clothes by cleaning them with no care in the world. I wanted to limit the amount of time it would take me to do laundry. I would think it was the company’s fault who sent me junk quality. Years ago I decided that it couldn’t hurt to follow the tag. When I started reading the tags it had clicked as to why my clothes turned out the way that they did.

Now I know you may loathe laundry and that’s okay. However, you will get more longevity and will not compromise the quality of your clothes. I know you don’t want to spend your hard earned money to throw clothes away. Follow your tag instructions and when they’re missing or you’re unsure. I’d recommend running it on a delicate cycle with no spin or the old faithful hand washing way. I couldn’t believe how many of my clothes had low tumble, hang or lay to dry directions. I have had a few clothes that said they may bleed when washed. I wash all my clothes inside out but I’d definitely recommend turning all distressed bottoms inside out. I did an experiment and noticed my distressing stats intact that way. Some companies will go the extra mile and put the cleaning directions in the description. It might sound silly but if a piece is dry clean only then I’d like to know before I buy it.

Jumper details:

I wanted to share a small snippet about today’s look. This jumpsuit is soft, not restricting, it does not pull in all directions from the lower region area and is comfortable. I am wearing an extra small and could totally size down. I wanted to have a little extra room since this outfit is 100% my lounge at home piece. It has a cinched waist that is adjustable, a racerback top and strapless bra friendly. The colors are more of a subtle mute tone so it’s not feeling too busy and in your face. To get in this piece you will slip it on and there are no zippers or buttons. It does have pockets which I love because I need to hide my Skittles from my toddlers. This jumpsuit also comes in gray, pebble and courtyard(looks to be olive toned). Shop my jumpsuit below.

Cleaning directions:

Machine wash cold with like colors. Do not bleach. Reshape lay flat to dry. Cool iron if needed. Do not iron on print. Do not wring or twist.

LOL! It’s not funny but I would have had this jumpsuit looking like the next hot mess express if I didn’t follow this. Shop my jumpsuit below.

Keeping it casual

Happy military spouse appreciation day! It has been a very long journey as an Army wife, but I’m still killing it. I’m spending the day looking at paint colors to order. I am turning one of the bedrooms in my home to a closet. I had gotten great color suggestions yesterday and can’t wait to start painting. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know. Today is a straight laid back and casual outfit which I’m totally digging. Sometimes a cute tee and knee distressed jeans is all you need on a Friday. Make sure you are catching me on IG(cantstopwontstyling) to watch my bedroom to closet transition.

Less or More?

Happy almost Friday! I wanted to bring two inspirations to get your outfit ideas ticking. For a long time I felt as if dresses were meant to be styled up. Giving a casual flare to dresses is right up my alley. I am a busy mom with a husband overseas and plenty of off days. So sometimes I am not in the mood for anything but cute sneakers with an outfit. I decided to try laying out two outfits the night before and I love it so far. Thankfully it fell in line with my mood today.

Remember to relax, take a deep breath and have fun trying on different outfits. If casual and laid back is your thing then rock it. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to make every style perfect. Don’t style your outfit because that’s what you think you should wear but what you want. I take my time and try out the first piece that comes to mind or I see. I can figure out if it’s needing less or more. I don’t try different pairs of shoes on each foot but hear me out why. You simply cannot get the big picture and I recommend dressing as if you’re wearing that outfit for the day. This is how you end up late the next day because you could have sworn that dress would have gone with those shoes. Now your closet or room is looking a hot mess, you’re back to square one and you should have left five minutes ago.

Let’s Get Styling

Since my dresses were my main focal point of my outfit. I wanted to add pieces that would compliment and add depth to my style. I reached for the first pieces that caught my eye. The thing about these dresses is they are effortless and any direction you go with styling it will look fabulous.

IMG_7364

My black dress and jean jacket is a basic go-to for myself but it can leave an unfinished look. I always talk about when an outfit needs a little flare to it and this is it. Animal print is always winning to me and I had the perfect Cheetah print sneakers that weren’t too busy. I accented my outfit with a dainty necklace and Erimish stack.

IMG_7254

I cannot get enough of tee shirt dresses and they will always stay in style. Typically you will find them to not have a form fit and will have an appropriate length. Which makes them ideal for teachers, mothers, students, casual Friday in the office and zoom quarantine style. This camo is more of a mute tone but still may come off busy. So I preferred a neutral pair of sneakers and threw a light jean jacket around my waist. The jean jacket functions as style and convenience when I get cold or don’t want to wear it when I won’t have the option to put it down. It took me less than 10 minutes to think, style and hang up my outfit choices. Sis, simplicity is always a great go-to when you’re crunching on little time. As always your confidence makes an outfit not the other way around.wp-1587142844656.jpg

Slay anything you wear

Hey sis, I hope you aren’t hurting too much from yesterday. Now who says you can’t slay a tee? I’m throwing a little inspo that simplicity can win as well. I felt as if the tee and sandals were made for one another. A dress down style can still look well put together and cute. Anything you wear own it, drop it like it’s hot and don’t forget your confidence from within. If you ever need any insight, help picking out styles or just want to drop feedback feel free to reach out to me by email or any of my social media platforms. You can shop my slay tee below.
