Happy almost Friday girl! I’m so excited because my ghost chair and rose couch will be arriving for my closet today. Speaking of closet, can we dive into yours? Years ago I found myself majorly flustered at the start of pairing an outfit. I could not find anything or get a clear view of my clothes. You know, when you have those favorite jeans and you can’t find them? It takes you more time than you’d like to admit to find them situation? Yeah girl! I’ve been there so many times and I decided I needed to get my you know what in gear.
I truly believe that if you organize your clothes to the needs of how you get ready. You’ll save time, become less frustrated and you can find the perfect outfit. The first item I realized that needed to be replaced were those pesky plastic hangers. There is nothing more irritating than finding that shirt behind your clothes after months of searching. Velvet, velvet, velvet and more velvet hangers are my jam. My clothes stay put and I don’t have to worry about clothes falling even when they’re on top of each other. If you do find yourself squeezing your clothes together. Then I’d highly recommend clothes dividers. They give you enough space to have a clear view of what’s hanging. I am not a dresser person and I physically need to see everything. I am that person that has their pants, shorts and skirts hung. I try to set it up as if I’m shopping plus after my kids and husband’s laundry I’m not in the mood for folding.
I still utilize my first walk-in closet to keep my new one less cluttered. The new closet has my most recent purchases on a clothes rack and I’m able to rotate clothes as needed. I don’t separate my clothes by color but I do organize by style. That works for me since I base my outfits to fit my mood. I can go in, see all my blouse tops, find the color I want to match my new denim shorts without confusion. As a busy mama and my husband overseas. I need my closets to stay organized and for outfit styling to run smooth as possible. Tomorrow I will have a page(use the drop down menu at the top) for all my must-have items I use to organize my closet.
Love the advice.
I do plan on writing a blog post on this topic sometime this year. But, long story short, I converted a small bedroom into a walk in closet. I organize my clothes according to season, except all my dress-up clothing is together. I further organize by keeping certain types of clothes together. For example, my summer shirts are sorted by strapless, straps, tanks, then short sleeves. More to come on this!
